What does this entail...?

- Intro to ladies' arm movement: Extension of body, arm and hand breakdown, styling, and warmup.

- Different styling options for social dancing in Salsa and Bachata.

- Ladies' footwork, and body motion.

💃- Lauren Folk is originally from Canada and she has been dancing for as long as she can remember. From ballet to ballroom, musical theater to Irish dance, West Coast swing to Bachata, she’s done it all! She trained with Fred Astaire Studios in Houston, Texas as well as with several independent studios in Canada. Lauren is excited to be a part of the Latin Dance Jax team and to share the joy of dance with the Jacksonville community.

You will understand the core beats in Salsa. You will learn about different common instruments in Salsa and how they give you information on the count. You will practice with a real instrument and practice staying on count. You will incorporate dancing with what you learn, and "hopefully" never be caught off count again!

🌟 Rueda De Casino: Calling Class Workshop!

🎡 Description: Rueda de Casino is a Cuban style of Salsa, that originated in Havana Cuba. It is danced with multiple partners in a giant circle while we focus on executing moves at the same time and switching partners in succession.

🗣️ Each Rueda has one person calling all the moves. This is a mixture of verbally calling the moves, using your hands to physically show a hand sign, and understanding the timing of when to call each move. In this workshop, we will be learning the basics of all of these, and each person will practice calling as well.
